These feet are made for walking....

The twins sure have been busy these days and I have so much to update everyone on, but as usual it is very hard to find the time. I sit here now, having just laid the twins down for a nap, listening to them babble and whine and play in their cribs. I will have to probably go back in there in a few minutes and lay them back down, but I just had to share these videos. Be warned, I have several of them.

On March 24th Elijah took his first steps! I was super excited and have been attempting to get some really good shots of him walking on the video camera for a while now, but it has been a struggle. I do have a couple clips, but I want to try and get a really good one soon because he is walking across rooms now without falling! He can take 8-9 or more steps at a time without falling. He is still a little wobbly at times, but doing really well! I give him one more week to fine tune the art of walking and then he will be walking everywhere. This makes me happy because I was determined that the twins would be walking by 1 year old, which is in four weeks, so they definitely fulfilled my hopes as I am sure they will both be walking pros by May 9th.

Ok just took a break to lay the twins back down. Let's continue.

On April 4th Kathryn took her first steps and now she wants to walk everywhere! She will be standing by the couch and will just turn and start trying to walk, even if nobody is there. This makes it extremely difficult for me as I have to be sure I am right beside her in case she takes off as she takes off with a running start and could very well end up cracking her head on the furniture if we aren't right beside her. Today she has begun to take some slower steps, so I think she is realizing she needs to slow it down a bit. She has taken 4-5 slow steps without falling, so she is gaining balance. So below are several videos that show the progression of their walking, starting with a video of them standing independently. I don't think I have a video of any of Kathryn's slow steps, but I will try and get that soon. Most of the videos are of Elijah since he has been walking the longest, but there is one or two of Kathryn. I will try to get a much better video of them walking as these videos don't do their skills justice, but that's how it goes, as soon as you get the video camera out they don't perform the way you want them too. Oh well I am sure I will have much more to show very soon. I hope you enjoy the videos while I enjoy the peace and quiet of my now sleeping babies!
